A Rainy Day at Kings

A Rainy Day at Kings

Today we had intermittent rain. First I went to Kings around 1:30pm, and only made it to the middle of the hill before it started pouring and we had to run back. But on that way up, the skies were pregnant with rain, dark and black. The grass was wet, and the fog was seeping over parts of town. The hills were gray and brown.

In the evening, we had bright sun cut through the clouds, only to be covered by them, then cut through again. We went back for a sunset walk, and it was a different world. On the way there via country roads, rain suddenly splashed the windshield, and then I saw a rainbow! It was still there, on top of the hill, when we got there. The red, the orange, and the light from under the clouds, and the reds, that was the palette of the evening, giving way to descending darkness, gracefully. La grazia.
